A new 6.5mw turbo steam generator has been delivered to the refinery and is currently awaiting installation and commissioning.
The commissioning of the new generator and the increased steam generating levels will bring stability and self sufficiency in the utility supply for the refinery’s operations.
The generator procured at a cost of 7 million dollars will minimize TOR’s dependency on the national grid by producing an additional 6.5mw to the existing 5.5mw generating capacity.
The project comes with a modernized control desk distribution (SCADA) system.
It is expected that the installation of the generator will be completed for commissioning within the second quarter of 2014.
