Minister Of Energy Assures TOR Of Government Support

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has assured TOR of government’s commitment to support the refinery to address its challenges to stay in continued operations.

He explained that the refinery was an important asset which needed to be managed well to support other economic ventures. He therefore urged management and staff to give off their best as government commits to the viability of the refinery.

The Minister said this when he paid a working visit to TOR to interact with management and find out how the first tranche of money of US$30 million had been utilized.

The Managing Director, Dr. Alphonse Dorcoo stated that the refinery had completed the first phase of the Plant Stabilization and Enhancement Projects at a cost US$30 million. He used the opportunity to appeal for the release of the remaining US$37.7million to enable the refinery completes the second phase to ensure the reliability of its operations.

The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Energy Mr. Benjamin Dagadu, the Director of Petroleum at the Ministry of Energy and some officials of the Ministry.
