New Board Tours Processing Plants

TOR’s new Board of Directors has been conducted around the refinery’s facilities for a familiarization tour of the company’s operations following its inauguration.

They were conducted around by Mr. Julius Ogo, the Shift Manager on Duty

The tour created a platform for the Board to engage with staff of the various divisions and departments on issues of concern.


Minister of Energy Assures new Board of his Support

The Minister of Energy, Hon. Boakye Agyarko has assured the new Board of Directors of TOR of his unflinching support to ensure TOR works again.

The Minister made this known when he swore into office the new Board Members.

He also tasked the new Board of Directors of TOR to identify and set strategic imperatives to revitalize the company for the needed growth.


TOR shuts down for turnaround maintenance

The refinery has temporarily shut down its processing plants for turnaround maintenance. The routine maintenance will improve plant reliability and ensure the efficiency and durability of plants and equipment.

The maintenance is scheduled to run from March through to June 2017 and involves the safe shutdown of all the production units, cleaning of all the columns, exchangers and vessels, as well as the overhauling and upgrade of major equipments.

While much has been spent in the turnaround, it has however, created additional temporary jobs within the period.


Mr. Isaac Osei is New Managing Director of TOR

Mr. Isaac Osei is the new Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery. He replaces Mr. Kwame Awuah-Darko, who was appointed in 2015 to head TOR.

He previously worked as the Chief Executive Officer at Ghana Cocoa Board where he improved the operations of the company. He served also as Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and was a Member of Parliament for the Subin Constituency for 8 years

He brings his unique mix of corporate and political experience combined with his rich expertise in economics and commodity trading to bear in his new role as the MD of TOR.
